Lecture:  This class will teach massage therapists how to save their energy using the basic principles of Joint Stacking:  A Body Mechanics Technique designed to use angle and leg strength as a means to increase pressure rather than relying on muscle strength.  Alternate techniques which minimize the use of the thumbs and hands are also learned.  The use of Massage Tools and Self Care techniques for Therpaists will also be covered to give the Massage Therapist longevity in a very physically demanding career.

Hands-On:  Students will practice various massage strokes using joint stacking and proper body, hand, and thumb alignment as well as learn some very simple self stretching and self care techniques to keep the body healthy and fit while performing multiple sessions in one day.  We will also learn how to use some common tools for Deep Tussue work rather than relying on thumb techniques.

What to Bring to Class:  FLAT Sheet (size Full or Double), Towel (Approximately 25-30" width X 40-50" Length), Cream/oil, loose comfortable clothing, such as sweats and t-shirts. No Jeans, dresses, skirts, or tight fitting clothing.  Optional:  Bolster
