Lecture:  This class will discuss the common problems of the Chest & Upper Back with the primary focus on Upper Cross Syndrome Syndrome.  Common Injuries, their signs and symptoms, and general massage applications will also be discussed. 

 

Hands-On:  Following a demonstration of the advanced anatomy of bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, bursa, and other structures in the Chest & Upper Back, students will learn to palpate and manipulate the structures.  Once a solid hands on knowledge of the structures is gained, different hands on techniques and protocols for dealing with Upper Cross Syndrome will be taught.

 

What to Bring to Class:  FLAT Sheet (size Full or Double), Towel (Approximately 25-30" width X 40-50" Length), Cream/oil, loose comfortable clothing, such as sweats and t-shirts. No Jeans, dresses, skirts, or tight fitting clothing.  Optional:  Bolster

Pre-Requisites:  Although not required, The Basic Injury, Hot & Cold Therapy, and the Scar Tissue Massage Classes are highly recommended to be taken prior to this Injury and Rehabilitation Workshop Class.
